Bravery Box - Rewards for Kids with Cancer In celebration of Lara completing her treatment Pure Tennis Ferny Hills & the Kids Play Cafe is running another Bravery Box Drive.
Not sure what that all means or how to help?
Simply drop off a donated gift to the Pro Shop that your own child would love - toddlers to teenagers (doesn’t need to be big). Bravery Box then sends these onto the children’s oncology ward as well earned rewards for children having unpleasant and scary procedures that kids with cancer face on a regular basis.
A massive thank u to the Allan family for giving the greater community an opportunity to help these brave little fighters and a big congratulations to Lara on completing her treatment. 💪👏🙏❤️ ... See more
This little peanut here, after what will be 800 days of chemo protocols (my OCD really likes how round that number is) she will end treatment on Saturday.
This is Lara. She is the inspiration behind Bravery Box - every time we celebrated her bravery, every time we said 'yes my darling this will hurt, but then it will be over' she showed us that by focusing on the choices she DID have - how she reacted, how she felt about herself, she began to focus on recovery, on the AFTER rather than on the painful or confronting procedure or the illness. We got some clever brains and big hearts together and began building programs to help ALL kids with cancer begin to focus on recovery and celebration.
That's me next to her, Tanya and her Dad Dave on the other side. She has an awesome brother Ruari too who is quite private. We are not the same four people we were 800 days ago, but that's OK. I quite love these four people, my pride for how my family turned leukaemia lemons into lemonade is bigger than the planet.
Lara's active treatment may be over in three days, Bravery Box will continue to be her legacy. We have such big plans to change the lives of the families with a childhood cancer diagnosis. The future is bright. ... See more
